The DSA successfully organised a training programme for cybersecurity certification on 4/12/20, with the participation of a number of staff members from the DSA, as well as from other partners in the public and private sector.  This training forms part of the implementation of a co-funded project which is being coordinated by the DSA: B4C – Building up the Cybersecurity Certification Capabilities of Cyprus. 

The DSA, as part of its activities to implement the NIS (Network and Information Security) Directive in the Republic of Cyprus, has begun the process of reviewing the list of critical information infrastructures in Cyprus. 

Representatives of the DSA are participating in the ‘German Presidency Cybersecurity Conference’, which is being held today in Berlin, through online participation (https://www.eu2020.de/eu2020-en/events/-/2357398). 

The DSA, as part of its activities for the continual improvement of cybersecurity levels in the Republic of Cyprus, and its ongoing contributions to relevant European working groups, is actively participating in the review process for the EU Directive on the Security of Network and Information Systems.  This Directive, based on which the DSA and National CSIRT-CY were created, includes the main provisions for measures for a high common level of security of network and information systems across the Union (including Cyprus).

Safer Internet Day (SID) is organised by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission*, each February to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology, especially among children and young people. Celebrated on the second day of the second week of the second month, each year on Safer Internet Day millions of people unite to inspire positive changes online, to raise awareness of online safety issues, and participate in events and activities right across the globe.

The European Assistance for Innovation Procurement initiative (www.eafip.eu) seeks to receive applications from public procurers of all EU Member States to support the implementation of Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) and Procurement of Innovative Solution (PPI).

On 7 March 2019, certified experts from ENISA, together with a representative from the National Cyber Security Centre of Portugal, concluded the peer review process of assessing the maturity level of the National CSIRT of the Republic of Cyprus.

Recognising that both Parties have independently conducted activities to ensure a safe and stable networked environment, the Digital Security Authority of Cyprus and the Israel National Cyber Directorate [INCD] signed a Memorandum of Understanding to address mutual cyber threats and promote national preparedness in the field of cyber security.
